Chilli Devil’s Brew (Capsicum annuum) – supposed to be “scorching hot”. I wait in hope. They are bushy, prolific plants. Will produce a mix of red, orange, yellow chillies. Long, slender, very hot.
Chilli Devil’s Brew Growing Guide
Sow (when, temp, soil, location)
- suited to containers
- sow directly into final position or into punnets
- sow 5cm deep
- Thin when about 5cm in height
- transplant when 7-10cm high (if in punnets)
- full sun
Harvest/Germination
- germinate: 7-21 days
- harvest: 10-14 weeks
- harvest by cutting stem approx. 2cm above pepper
Care/Watering
- water regularly till established then..
- occasionally only when plants mature (do not let dry out but do not overwater)
- mulch to retain moisture
- liquid fertiliser occasionally
- protect from frost
